For Your Children: Get to Know NC!

Here is a short and simple learning activity you can do with your child. Go online and find a colorful map and talk about the neighboring states and the direction of each. Help your child find the rivers mentioned below. Then show them images of the trees, flowers and animals mentioned below and discuss how they are important to North Carolina. You may also click on the link to the left for better images of the NC flag and state animals some flowers and/or foods.

If you do not live in NC, you can do a similar activity for your local state.
